Steven Klinsky is Victory’s founder. He is also the founder and chief executive of New Mountain Capital, LLC, a private equity firm with over $8.5 billion in asset commitments under management. He earned a B.A. at the University of Michigan, a law degree from Harvard Law School and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He has been chairman or a director of numerous companies and is an Advisory Board Member of Harvard Business School’s Social Enterprise Initiative; an Advisory Board Member of the Program on Education Policy and Governance at Harvard’s Kennedy School; he founded the Gary Klinsky Children Centers after school education philanthropy. In 1999, he worked to establish two of New York State’s original eight charter public schools, including writing the application for the Sisulu-Walker Charter School of Harlem, New York’s first charter school. He founded Victory Schools to serve these schools and to act as an advisor for other schools and school districts.
